In recognizing the formidable legacy of Kialoa III US 1, Roland Pieper established the K3 Foundation to restore Kialoa III to her original 1973 commissioning condition and to maintain her racing legacy in today’s premier events. Through the Foundation, Pieper has allowed young sailors to experience first hand the dramatic capabilities of a true ocean racing vessel by offering onboard opportunities during current regattas in the U.S. and the Caribbean.
